Coming from off the pace, Carolina Beach recorded his sixth win of the season in the $14,500 Open Pace at Saratoga Casino Hotel when winning as the 4-5 favourite in 1:51.2.
Driver Wally Hennessey sat off the early speed with the Melissa Beckwith trainee who moved second over after the first half went in :55.2. Drafting behind Artful Way as he brushed first-over, Carolina Beach tipped off cover around the final turn before storming past his rivals to prevail. Artful Way held second while Somewhere Fancy earned third.
The four-year-old pacer by Somebeachsomewhere collected his 12th victory of the season with Saturday's victory.
