Two-year-old pacing gelding Need You So Bad continued his undefeated win streak in the first leg of the Robert Millbank B.C. Breeders Stakes on Saturday night at Fraser Downs.

Leaving from post four in the $7,500 elimination, Need You So Bad and trainer/driver Bill Davis carved out fractions of :29.2, 1:00 and 1:28.4 en route to a 1:57.3 triumph. Kootenay Harper (Jim Marino) finished nearly five lengths behind in second off a pocket trip while Lisplaced (Serge Masse) recovered from an early miscue and advanced first over to show with his stablemate Astronomical Storm (Rod Therres) following in fourth.

The American Ideal-Sendingforth gelding has won four pari-mutuel starts for earnings of more than $16,000. He is owned by the J J J Stables of Aldergrove, B.C.

Fresh off a 1:56.2 track record performance for two-year-old geldings in his Fraser debut last weekend, Need You So Bad was sent postward as the heavy 1-5 favourite and paid $2.50 to win.

The two-year-old pacing colts and geldings will face off in their second elimination leg of the B.C. Breeders Stakes on Saturday, September 14. The third leg will take place on Sunday, October 27, followed by the fourth leg on Sunday, November 3, and the finals on Monday, November 11.

Also riding a win streak, four-year-old pacing mare Prairie Illusion won this week's $10,500 Fillies & Mares Open in 1:53.2 for driver Jim Marino and trainer/owner William Young of Langley, B.C. The Mach Three miss now boasts four straight Open wins since being claimed by Young for $30,000 in April. Phone Terror (Serge Masse) and Jennas Pass (Doug Chappell) finished six lengths behind in second and third.
