Stonebridge Armour stalked patiently from the pocket while Horoscope did the heavy lifting on the lead, then blew by in the Lightning Lane to capture Wednesday’s feature at The Meadows, a $13,300 conditioned trot.
Horoscope reeled off a swift 1:25 three-quarters but tired late, inspiring a number of challenges. But Stonebridge Armour was best positioned, brushing for Ridge Warren to prevail in 1:54.1. Saint K put in a huge effort, moving first up from last, but fell a half-length short with Who Made Who third.
J.L. Adams trains the winner, a four-year-old Muscle Mass-Armbro Vanquish gelding who boosted his lifetime bankroll to $120,571, for Martin Valentic.
Hunter Myers collected four wins on the 12-race card, including a pair for trainer Randy Bendis, while Dave Palone fashioned a triple.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday (Sept. 8) when the 12-race card features a pair of carryovers: $4,110.32 in the final-race Super Hi-5 and $952.93 in the Jackpot Pick 5 (Race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m. (EDT).
