A compact, six-horse field went postward in Friday’s $8,500 Preferred 3 for trotters at Grand River Raceway, and Elysium Lindy had no problem disposing of the five foes he faced.
With Anthony MacDonald at the lines, Elysium Lindy shot to the lead from Post 3 and never looked back through fractions of :28.4, 1:00 and 1:29. A :29-second closing quarter was more than enough for the favourite to win by a pair of lengths over Bizet in 1:58. Power And Grace rounded out the Trifecta ticket.
Jason McGinnis trains the six-year-old son of Cantab Hall-Olympic Lindy for Panic Stable LLC of Itasca, IL. The victory was the third of the season for the 23-time winner who upped his lifetime earnings to $377,695 in the process.
