George Brennan spent the second portion of his Labor Day winning...and winning...and winning
.
Brennan, who began his Monday with a fruitless visit to Chester Downs - 0-for-4 with three breakers - reached Yonkers Raceway in time for his scheduled debut in the fourth race.
From there, he reached the winner's circle seven times - including three from the eight-hole - in 10 drives.
Brennan wasted no time, winning with his first three drives, beginning with Kittys Pro Girl ($2.90) in that $14,000, fourth-race pace, getting the mile-and-one-sixteenth in 2:03.1. Brennan made it consecutive eight-balls with Show The World ($13.60) in the $14,000, fourth race pace (added-distance 2:03.1). The pylons then parted in the $17,000, sixth-race pace for Brennan and favored Ball McCartney N ($4.80) in an extra-yardage 2:01.1.
After finishing third, third and eighth in races 7-8-9, Brennan then won the final four races on the card. It started with Pan from Nantucket ($2.70) in the $26,000, 10th-race pace (added-distance 2:00.2), then Wynsum Magic ($6.90) in the $26,000, 11th-race pace (added-distance 2:01) and Terrys Star Dragon ($4.60) in the $26,000, 12th-race pace (added-distance 2:00.1). He then wrapped the evening with a un-Brennan-like 14-1 number in Little Prince ($30), taking the $22,000, 13th-race pacing finale from the outside post position in an added-distance 2:00.1.
Monday props also to drivers Brent Holland with three wins, and Steve Smith, whose one victory moved him to within six of 3,000 lifetime.
