Owner Lou Sorella, trainer Robert Kyle Fellows and driver J Harris were all thrilled when Undrafted captured the $12,500 Preferred 2 Pace on August 26 at Georgian Downs – but so was Mary Randall.
Via a promotion that had taken place at Leamington Raceway a week prior, Randall won a 10 per cent virtual ‘ownership’ of Undrafted for his next start, which ended up being Georgian’s August 26 Preferred 2 Pace.
A first-over ascent propelled Undrafted ($37.70), a 17-1 outsider, to a narrow 1:53.2 score over the favoured Champagne Phil.
Randall, of Oil Springs, Ont., was very excited to be the winner of the promotion and was very happy with the result. Organizers with the marketing initiative would like to send many thanks to Sorella for generously offering the great promotion.
The promotion was followed up by trainer Lindsey Kerr and owner Cindy Kerr, who also gave away a virtual 10 per cent ownership of Chuck In Charge for one of his recent starts.
