A pair of sons of Dancin Lou swept the $8,000 Prospect Series divisions on Wednesday (Sept. 4) at Grand River Raceway with Five Star Lou and Bozak winning their respective splits in career best fashion.

The field of five young pacers lined up in the second and swifter division with Travis Henry holding the lines of Five Star Lou from post four.

A pair of leavers battled out of the gate with Whats Your Limits () running off the screen early. Five Star Lou took back to fourth while Whats Your Limits dominated the timer with an opening panel in :27.3 and half in :58. The field maintained single file through the half mile marker and then, Henry was the first to pull a right line. Five Star Lou sprinted in the outer lane and found himself wheel-to-wheel with the leader going to the 1:26.4 three-quarters. A miscue by the leader left Five Star Lou with open track ahead and he used every bit of it to fend off charges by Up Front BB (Louis-Philippe Roy), who finished second by a head in 1:55.1, and Silverwalls (Scott Coulter), who rounded out the triactor.

Five Star Lou (Dancin Lou - Hakima) is a two-year-old colt owned by Landmark 17 Racing Stable, Stephen Downey, Dan Mogridge, and Esa Lahtinen. He won his second straight start and his second career win from five starts, lowering his previous time of 1:56.3. Shawn Steacy conditions the winner. He paid $2.90 as the favourite.

Bozak won every pole in his mile before fending off a late charge from his foes at the wire.

Brett MacDonald sent the Scott McEneny student to the front and they rattled off fractions in :27.4, :58.2, and 1:27.1. Turning for home, Leave It To Lucan (Jason Ryan) and Babbling Billy (Samuel Fillion) surged and the trio finished in a blanket finish across the line. Bozak held on for the win by a neck over Leave It To Lucan, who took second a neck over Babbling Billy.

Brenda and Mark Lane co-own the Dancin Lou - Miss Mittzie Bee gelding with Anthony Lane. In eight starts in his young career, Bozak recorded his second straight win, lowering his time from 1:56.3. He paid $3.20 as the bettors' choice.
