Bobby Myers' Big Al M ($3.40, Eddie Davis Jr.) was the fastest of four Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) $20,000 two-year-old trotting divisional winners on Wednesday (Sept. 30) at Harrington Raceway.
The Anders Bluestone gelding marched to the lead from post seven and never relented over Altar Call and Roll Juan. Big Al M redeemed himself for trainer Eric Davis after hitting the finish line first last week but being placed second due to a pylon disqualification.
The first filly split saw Harry Marsh Jr.'s Designers Edge ($11.00, Bill Long) score a 2:04.4 win over Kims Command and Annalee. The daughter of Hes Spooky held off a fierce late bid from Kims Command for her first career win.
Rhett ($2.60, Tony Morgan) was heavily favoured at 1-to-5 and didn't disappoint in the final male division, notching his second straight win in 2:01.4 for owners Don and David Wiest. Trained by 90-year-old Don Wiest, the Keystone Activator gelding led all the way and was comfortable six length winner over Someofmygoodtime and Malachis Test.
Providence West’s Toni Lee ($45.00, Kim Vincent) was a 2:07.3 wire-to-wire winner in the final filly division over Amy Wil and Azurine. The Hes Spooky filly notched her first lifetime win for trainer-driver Vincent.
Tony Morgan, Allan Davis and Eddie Davis Jr. had driving doubles on the program.
