Eloge swept to command after the opening quarter and cruised to victory in the $24,590 Lucien Bombardier Stake for two-year-old pacing fillies featured on Sunday's harness racing card at Hippodrome 3R along with four sophomore stakes finals
Fresh off a Quebec Stakes final victory on Sept. 18, Eloge earned her fourth consecutive win in Sunday's main event for owner-breeder Guy Corbeil of Mirabel, Que.
Driver Simon Allard pulled Eloge from the pocket after the :29.1 opening quarter in the Bombardier Stake and the No Pan Intended-Missthrill filly cruised past middle splits of 1:00.3 and 1:32.1 en route to a 2:03.1 triumph. Ulla Bayama finished two and a half lengths behind in second and Lady Valentine was third.
Eloge is now four-for-seven in her career with $27,602 banked in purses.
Sunday's card also featured four $15,000 Quebec Stakes Finals for three-year-olds with former divisional winners Decret Justiciale, Olivias Way and Cee Cee Panic all defending their titles.
Undefeated in the province of Quebec, Decret Justiciale romped to nine and a half length victory in 2:02.2 in the three-year-old colt trot final for trainer-driver Denis Filion. The Justice Hall-Supersfinalcatch gelding, who is currently riding a four-race win streak, boasts seven wins in 11 seasonal starts with over $61,000 earned on the year. He is owned by breeder Jules Sigler of Ottawa, Ont. and Danielle Levac of St-Augustin-Mirabel, Que.
Trained and driven by Marcel Barrieau, Olivias Way rallied off second over cover to win the three-year-old filly pace final in 1:59.4 by one and three-quarter lengths. The homebred Shanghai Phil-This Much Is True filly is owned by Hudson Standardbred Stable Inc. of Hudson, Que.
Driver Yves Filion also used a second over trip in the three-year-old colt pace final to get Cee Cee Panic back into the winner's circle. The Perfect Union-Miss Alwindy colt prevailed by a quarter length over Baron Yankee in 1:59.4 to push his own win streak to four. Cee Cee Panic is now four-for-six this year for trainer Justin Filion and owner-breeder Brian Paquet of Quebec City, Que.
The three-year-old filly trot final went to Genevieve Dream and driver Sylvain Lacaille. The Justice Hall-Grisaille Hanover miss, who failed to make the last stakes final, made it up to her connections as she converted from the pocket and romped to a 10-1/2 length score this time out in 2:02 over defending champion Promise To Belucky. She is trained by Normad Masse for 9103 0163 Quebec Inc. of Montreal, Que.
