Prepping for next week's Allerage Trot, world champion Chapter Seven gunned down titan Arch Madness to win the $7,500 Open Handicap Trot in 1:51.1 during Sunday's stakes card at The Red Mile.

Driver Tim Tetrick settled 2-5 favourite Chapter Seven into third as even-money Arch Madness trotted to the lead ahead of inside starter Ldees Creditreport during a :27-second opening panel. Meanwhile, Waldorf Hall and Haulin Laser made breaks behind the gate.

Arch Madness led the field to the half in :55 and opened up on his rivals into the final turn while Tetrick roused Chapter Seven from the three-hole. Arch Madness hit three-quarters in 1:23.3 and turned for home, but Chapter Seven unleashed a burst of speed and blew by the pacesetter to an open length victory in 1:51.1.

Chapter Seven paid $2.80 to win. Arch Madness settled for second and Waldorf Hall came on for third after recovering from his early miscue.

The four-year-old millionaire son of Windsongs Legacy is trained by Linda Toscano and owned by Richard Gutnick, Southwind Farm, and J And T Silva Stables LLC.
