MacDonald Sets The Record Straight At Queen’s Park

”We all find ourselves in a fight – a fight for our lives, our families’ lives and truthfully the lives of thousands of horses, also.”

Many would argue truer words have never been spoken. Those words were delivered during a speech – that was both passionate and hard-hitting - by driver Anthony MacDonald during last Thursday’s rally at Queen’s Park.

“We have all heard horse racing or health care. It’s been debated in that very building,” stated MacDonald. “There couldn’t be any more of a foolish statement – one has helped fund the other for over 10 years now. But should we really be shocked? This government has never helped out the everyday Joe. Joe has been on his own now for a long time – nine years or so. Joe’s silence has been the Liberal’s strength, but that all ends today. The Liberals fully expected us to lay down, say nothing, shocked and stunned while they scurried away with our portion of the money from the SAR program. The money we race for, the money we feed our children with, the money that helped fund education and, yes, the money that helped fund healthcare.

“Without horse racing in Ontario, thousands and thousands of people and horses are in dire straits,” he added. “Horses that have bought our farms, put our children through schools, paid for truck and trailers and employed countless veterinarians, grooms and blacksmiths. Horses have put over a billion dollars in to the Provincial Government’s pockets. We cannot trust this government, not with our tax dollars, not with our livelihoods and certainly not with our horses. Where is the accountability of these people? Where is the accountability of our government?”

Congratulations to Lisa, Anthony and all the rest of you! Unfortunately I am unable to join in as I have family responsibilities which make it impossible to leave home as I please. Isn*t it refreshing to hear politicians speaking the truth for a change, It*s up to all of us to demand the truth from all public servants? When did we become the servants to our elected officials? The time has come to change this lying behavior, bring on an election sooner rather than later! As a senior citizen I am trying to grow old gracefully which my own government is trying to prevent. Controling my blood pressure when outright lies are the norm, and I see hard working taxpaying citizens put out of work so multi millionares can earn more billions that will leave this province and country. This has to stop! Keep after them Lisa!

It was a wonderfull speech Anthony. You had me in tears but I have been doing a lot of that ever since March 13, 2012.This is a date that all Ontarians should remember. It could be the factor that brings down the Provincial Government. WE should all be praying to God that they don't get a majority for if they do no will be safe. If they can destroy a thriving Industry like ours, that is making them BILLIONS of dollars each year ,who will they pick on next when they spend to much of Ontario's tax dollars? Maybe they should be looking in their own pockets. I'm sure they are full.

Please ! Someone ask Mcguinty do we need more crime in toronto ? Casino s = more crime and prision's. Horses = what sports do in the schools. Keeps kids off the streets away from crime ,drugs and builds character.
