The race to 500 wins is officially over for driver Jody Jamieson, who continues to lead this year’s dash race in North America
.
The Cambridge, Ontario horseman hit the 500-win target in the midst of a four win performance on Thursday afternoon at Flamboro Downs.
Jamieson was quite during the early part of the card, but he really came to life at the mid-way point of the 11-race program. He mapped out a winning trip for Vijaysmodren (1:56.1) in Race 5 before scoring his 500th of the season two races later with Daylon Dynasty (1:56.2). He also added wins with Mr High Roller Cam (1:55.3) and Nana Nana Boo Boo (1:54.2) en route to completing the Grand Slam.
With a little less than four months remaining in the 2009 racing season, Jamieson completed the program at Flamboro Downs 243 wins away from equaling Mark MacDonald’s Canadian record of 745 wins set back in 2006.
