Windemere Skye will lead a stakes-filled afternoon at Red Shores Summerside on Sunday, Sept. 27 as she targets her 22nd straight victory.
The Prince County track has 17 dashes scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. (ADT) opening post time. The program features Lady Slipper Stakes and Joe O’Brien Memorial divisions with $295,700 in total purses.
Unbeaten in 21 starts, Windemere Skye has the rail in the $27,200 Lady Slipper Stakes Gold division for three-year-old pacing fillies in race 17. Marc Campbell drives the 5-2 morning-line favourite for trainer Earl Watts. The Post Time Picks name her the most probable winner of the day but the test won't be easy with Fitness First (To be driven by Corey MacPherson) and Serenity Now (Jason Hughes) selected next in the eight-horse field.
The other $27,200 Gold filly division is race 13, where Ea Money Maker is the 5-2 favourite from post six with Ken Murphy driving for trainer Saul Lanigan. Elm Grove Uncannie (Adam Merner) and Mysterious Ways (Hughes) are also top choices.
Three-year-old pacing colts meet in a pair of $26,200 Joe O’Brien Memorial Gold divisions. Zero Two Sixty is favoured at 5-2 from post three in race 11 for Murphy and trainer Sifroi Melanson, while Shanghai Whiskey gets the same morning-line price from post five in race 15 with Campbell aboard for trainer Wade Myers. Goose Commander (Hughes) and Woodmere Mahomes (Gilles Barrieau) are contenders in race 11, with Cattle Call (Barrieau) and Oceanview Lou (Brodie MacPhee) among Shanghai Whiskey’s rivals.
The $22,100 Lady Slipper Stakes division for three-year-old trotting fillies goes in the eighth race. Bonmati is the 5-2 favourite from post six with MacPherson driving for trainer Blayne White. Roseys El Girl (Murphy) and Miss Gracie Ridge (MacPhee) are the other leading selections.
Little Louis is favoured in the $22,100 three-year-old trotting colt division in the sixth dash with MacPherson driving from post four for trainer Kuri White.
The younger trotters also take the spotlight. Saulsbrook Disco (Campbell) is the Post Time Picks selection in the Lady Slipper Stakes division for two-year-old trotting fillies in the fourth race, while the undefeated Stunning Speed (Mike McGuigan) tops the picks for the two-year-old trotting colts in race 12.
