The connections of Redland Rocket Man and Toast Of The Town have made the $45,000 USD supplemental payment and are now eligible for the 81st edition of the Little Brown Jug on Thursday, Sept. 24 at the Delaware County Fair.
A supplemental entry previously reported by Trot Insider earlier this week, Redland Rocket Man is the fastest sophomore pacer in North America this season thanks to his 1:46.4 effort in the Simcoe Stakes (Gr. 3) last Saturday (Sept. 12) at Woodbine Mohawk Park – defeating Jug eligibles Sweet Lovin Lou and the defending Horse of the Year in Canada and the U.S., Beau Jangles. The Bulldog Hanover-Granny Hanover gelding has earned $523,885 for the partnership of trainer and co-owner John Pentland and co-owners Murray Cox of Rockwood and Gary Volpe of St. Thomas, Ont.
Toast Of The Town is owned by the quartet of Let It Ride Stables Inc. of Boca Raton, Fl., Morrison Racing Stables of Indiana, Pa., Jesmeral Stable of New Rochelle, N.Y. and Alberg Racing LLC of Washington, N.J. He comes into the Jug on a three-race win streak, setting his lifetime mark of 1:48.1 in the final leg of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes at Hollywood Casino at the Meadows on Aug. 28 before winning the PASS Consolation on Sept. 6 by more than five lengths in 1:50.1. Noel Daley conditions the Sweet Lou- New Year gelding, who has earned $340,452 in his career.
The entire Little Brown Jug field will be drawn when the entry box closes on Monday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m.
