A medical team at a racetrack recently saved the life of a horse owner that suffered a cardiac arrest while in the winner’s circle. In turn, the owner has sponsored a pair of races, which have been given interesting names.

As an article by the South Wales Evening Post explains, horse owner and racing fan Alan Jackson was watching his horse race in June at Chepstow Racecourse, located in Monmouthsire, Wales.

The 72-year-old suffered cardiac arrest while watching his horse, King Zeal, finish second during a race. The medical team at the track attended to Jackson immediately and got his heart going again three different times.

"The doctors said if I had collapsed at home I would not have survived because medical help would have been too far away," the South Wales Evening Post has quoted Jackson as saying.

Jackson is planning on being back at the track next week to watch a pair of races that he has sponsored in light of the scary incident.

The two races that Jackson is sponsoring have been dubbed the ‘Chepstow Racecourse Saved My Life Handicap Chase’ and the ‘Alan Jackson Is Still Alive Selling Stakes.’
