The winning streak is now three in a row and counting for Power And Grace thanks to her front-stepping score in Thursday’s $11,500 Preferred 2 for trotters at Flamboro Downs.
With Brett MacDonald at the lines, Power And Grace powered to the lead from Post 3 and had the field chasing her past the quarter pole in :28.2. Sicario, who made an early break and continued on a dead gallop, was the charted leader at the half in :57.4 before being reined back allowing Power And Grace to reclaim the top spot.
Power And Grace went on to lead the group past the three-quarter pole in 1:26.3 and then used a final frame of :29 to win by a length over Gold Edition in 1:55.3. Esquire took home the show dough in the nine-horse affair.
Sent off as the even-money favourite, the six-year-old daughter of Holiday Road-Mark Of Honour posted her fifth win of the year for trainer Ron MacDonald. The 29-time winner has banked close to $240,000 to date.
