Snyder Confident Despite Outside Post

Well Said has proven his mettle in the Pepsi North America Cup and Meadowlands Pace. After being handed Post 8 for the opening heat of the Little Brown Jug, co-owner Jeffrey Snyder knows the colt had zero

luck in the draw. “Worst possible post position we could have drawn,” he said.

Well Said will compete in the second of the opening heat eliminations of the 64th Little Brown Jug, which will take place Thursday, September 24 at the Delaware Ohio County Fairgrounds.

Snyder owns Well Said, a son of Western Hanover, with Susan Grange’s Lothlorien Equestrian Enterprises. He knows that his charge has the speed; and he knows driver Ron Pierce feels right at home when the stakes pressure is feverish. So when it comes to strategy on the blazing half-miler, Snyder knows that Pierce has the key to overcoming the outer starting spot.

“You can’t take back, that will just compromise yourself," Snyder said. "I expect Ron will go for the front. He’s a Hall of Famer, I trust him."

And is Snyder is nervous about the opening heat, he sure isn't letting on.

“Ron will know what to do,” he said. “Good things can happen.”
