Rose Run Quest scored in the $3,150 Preferred Pace on Harness The Hope night Saturday (Sept. 19) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Trainer-driver Gilles Barrieau hustled Rose Run Quest to the lead and led through every call to a 1:54.1 victory for owner Blair Hansen of Charlottetown. Stablemate The Rev closed hard to fall a head short in second but was subsequently placed fifth for interference in the stretch drive. Woodmere Ideal Art was elevated to second with Simple Kinda Man completing the triactor.
Barrieau teamed with trainer Ron Matheson earlier on the card to win with Selkirk Echo in 1:58.3 and Ashes To Ashes in 1:55.3. Spack Jarrow got up the passing lane for a 1:56.1 victory in race 6 for Barrieau and trainer Raymond White.
Adam Merner had a driving triple on the program with Woodmere Beachline (2:00.4) for trainer Marc Campbell and with the Ron Gass trained duo of Diamond Call (1:55.1) and Hemingway (1:56.3).
The final race of the evening saw the biggest upset of the night as Brandons Glory won the $2,800 event in 1:55.3 at 22-1 odds from the MacKenzie MacInnis stable of Tyne Valley.
