Brett Miller celebrated his 7,000th career victory driving Spell To Cast in the Friday afternoon's eighth race at Harrah's Philadelphia.
The 42-year-old reinsman had Spell To Cast overland following cover the entire mile and rallied three-wide off the back of Solid Queen to defeat that mare by half a length in 1:53.1. The Christopher Temming trainee pulled off a 10-1 upset in the filly and mare conditioned pace and paid $23 to win.
Coming off a career-year in 2014, Miller has driven 226 winners this season with his mounts earnings over $5.4 million in purses. Lifetime, he has driven winners of more than $62.9 million.
A pair of $35,000 Liberty Bell divisions for three-year-old trotting colts and geldings were featured on the Friday card, with Jacksons Minion (1:55.1), Whom Shall I Fear (1:55.4), and Explosive Man (1:54.3) all turning in winning efforts.
