Fountain Pen paced home for her sixth straight win during Tuesday evening’s card of racing at Northfield Park.
Fountain Pen started from post four and made every pole a winning one through fractional times of :28.1, :57.3, 1:26.2 and 1:55. She never experienced an anxious moment in the mile and was two lengths ahead of her competition at the wire.
The three year-old filly is owned by Winbak Farm of Chesapeake City, MD and trained by Don Pfister. Kurt Sugg was aboard for the winning drive.
Tuesday’s triumph was the seventh career success for Fountain Pen (Veeza-Puccini Blue Chip-Magical Mike) and increased her lifetime earnings to $29,566. She was the overwhelming favourite and returned $2.80 to win.
Fountain Pen moved to Northfield in early August with only one win in 12 starts. However, she has excelled under Pfister’s tutelage and remains undefeated over the Flying Turns.
