Since shipping into the stable of Canada's leading trainer Richard Moreau, Bestofbest Hanover has done nothing but win and on Saturday night he posted his fastest mile yet with a speedy 1:48.4 effort in the $34,000 Preferred Pace at Mohawk Racetrack.

The class-climbing pacer sat fifth for most of the mile before kicking home off cover to earn his fourth consecutive win with Sylvain Filion driving for Quebec owner Melanie Plourde.

Speed Again (Brian Sears) was on the hook for a :25.4 opening panel, but 6-5 favourite Camaes Fellow (Yannick Gingras) edged by at the half in :53.1 and led the field to three-quarters in 1:20.4. Meanwhile, Upfront Hoosierboy (Randy Waples) moved first over with 7-2 second choice Bestofbest Hanover picking up the cover and then sprinting home in :27-seconds to secure the one and a quarter length victory. Upfront Hoosierboy edged out Camaes Fellow for second.

Bestofbest Hanover paid $8.80 to win.

The five-year-old son Western Hanover, who has a 7-6-3 record in 25 seasonal starts, now boasts 16 wins on his lifetime record with earnings climbing over the $500,000 mark.
