Two-year-olds were front and centre at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Monday evening as the five-eighths mile oval hosted the finals of The Boys Of Summer Pacing Series, The Frisky Fillies Pacing Series and The Tara Hills Stud Trotting Series

.

Huxley lived up to his 1-5 billing in the $26,600 final of The Boys Of Summer Pacing Series for the duo of driver Gord Brown and trainer Dave Menary. The son of Modern Art-Heavenly Hudson got into the flow on the way to the half, and he was in the process of brushing to the top as the field marched by the three-quarter pole in 1:26.2. A :29.3 final frame was more than enough for the gelding to win by 1-1/2 lengths over Frankies Dragon. OK Ebury rounded out the top three finishers.

Burke Racing Stable LLC of Fredericktown and Weaver Bruscemi LLC of Canonsburg, PA share ownership on the juvenile, who has rattled off three consecutive victories after finishing second in his pari-mutuel debut. The $7,500 purchase from last year’s Harrisburg Yearling Sale has stashed away close to $21,000 to date.

My Ideal Hanover kept her undefeated record intact with a 1:58 score in the $26,500 final of The Frisky Fillies Pacing Series. Todd Warren wasted no time hustling the Robbie Robinson trainee through fractions of :29.2, :59.2 and 1:29.1 before using a :28.4 closing panel to stop the clock in 1:58. She drew off to win by 3-1/4 lengths over Vicky Killean, with Last Run taking home the bronze medal.

Sent off as the 1-2 choice in the six-filly affair, the daughter of Western Ideal-Mydancecardisfull pushed her earnings to $25,450 for the partnership of Stephanie and Brian Cassell of Gloucester, ON.

A costly break by race favourite Majestic Taglet left the door wide-open in the $27,600 final of The Tara Hills Stud Trotting Series, and Ghirardelli Lindy took advantage of the situation for driver Marcel Barrieau. The son of Chocolatier-Armbro Alfresco sat second to the quarter pole before rushing to the top and supplying middle splits of 1:01.3 and 1:32.3. A :30.3 closing quarter was more than enough for the gelding to win in 2:03.1. Spencer Grenville was 5-3/4 lengths back in second, with Day Dream taking home third prize.

Robert Dube trains the youngster for Noreen Paulin of Windsor, ON and Saul Mendelson of Montreal, QC. It was the second win in three tries for the career winner of $17,582.
