On Sunday, Aug. 10 The Red Mile will provide a 16-race card for Sunday Night Lights sponsored by Crawford Farms. There will be one $80,000 USD second round of the Kentucky Championship Series, two $30,000 USD first round legs of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series, three $15,000 USD first round legs of the Kentucky Golden Rod Series and three $10,000 USD first round legs of the Kentucky Wildcat Series. All stake events are for freshman filly pacers.

Beautiful Memory (Marvin Luna) and Bahama Momma (Scott Zeron) resume their budding rivalry in the Championship Series. The former upended the latter at odds of 65-1 to break her maiden in 1:50.3 for conditioner Tony Alagna in the first round of this series on July 29.

Ignored no more, Beautiful Memory is 7-2 on the morning line and was assigned post position three in the field of 10.

The daughter of Perfect Sting-Reflect With Me is 3-1-0-1 with a bankroll of $61,608.

Bred by Brittany Farms, Beautiful Memory is the second foal out of her Breeders Crown-winning dam, Reflect With Me, a daughter of Captaintreacherous who collected $928,892 on the racetrack.

Beautiful Memory was selected for $337,838 by Micki Rae Stables at last year’s Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.

Bahama Momma’s dam is no slouch. The daughter of former U.S. Horse of the Year Tall Dark Stranger is out of Dan Patch and O’Brien Award winning millionaire Idyllic Beach.

The filly will begin pacing from post position five and is 9-2 on the morning line for trainer Joe Bongiorno. Bahama Momma is 3-2-1-0 after annexing her first two starts in Pennsylvania Sire Stakes company and sports $90,286 in purse money.

Bred by Christina Takter, Marvin Katz and Brixton Medical Inc, the filly was a private purchase by Let It Ride Stables and Odds On Racing.

Caviart Daisy (PP2, Andrew McCarthy) will also have a say in the final result of this contest. The daughter of Sweet Lou-Caviart Darlin hails from the shedrow of Jamie Sullivan and is favoured at 5-2 on the morning line.

She finished right behind Beautiful Memory and Bahama Momma in their last encounter after winning her first three starts in sire stakes at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming and Hotel. One of those triumphs was the $136,986 final for her age, gait and gender. She has earned $136,068 in her four appearances.

Bred by Caviart Farms, Caviart Daisy was taken home by Frank Chick for $36,486 at last year’s Lexington Selected Yearling Sale. She is a half sister to Caviart Delight ($196,919) and her granddam is multiple North American champion and triple millionaire Darlins Delight.

The undefeated JK Fierce Lady (Dexter Dunn) is the 6-5 choice on the morning line in the first division of the Commonwealth series for trainer Nancy Takter. The regally-bred daughter of Captaintreacherous-JK First Lady was allotted post position two and places her two-for-two record on the line in the field of six.

Naughty Beauty (Todd McCarthy) will attempt to collect her second victory in as many trips to the gate from post position seven in the second division of this series. Trained by Andrew Harris, the daughter of Bettors Delight-Beautyonthebeach is the 2-1 on the morning line in the field of seven.

Racing will continue through Sunday, Oct. 5, following a Sunday through Wednesday schedule. Fans and horsemen can look forward to 5:05 p.m. post times on Sundays, and 1 p.m. post times on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays throughout the meet. Please be advised post times on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are subject to change due to the fluctuations in extreme heat and various other weather conditions across the nation.

Sunday Night Lights on Aug. 10 will feature a T-Rex event. Four races will take place between live harness racing, with divisions being carded as follows:

  • Eight years old and under
  • Nine to 13 years old
  • Any Blow-Up Costume Race (ages 14 and up)
  • T-Rex Race (ages 14 and up)

This race is BYOTR — Bring your own T-Rex. T-Rex tails will be provided for children eight and under.

There will be plenty of other activities to enjoy including food trucks, stick horses, cornhole, a petting zoo, and more.

The Red Mile will once again feature industry low takeout on the pari-mutuel side of things while offering fans a full buffet of wagering options including bookend daily double wagering exacta and trifecta wagering, 20 cent superfectas, Pick-3, Pick-4, Pick-5 and Pick-6 offerings and the Super Hi-5.
