The standardbred horsemen and women of Alberta Downs in Lacombe, Alta. took their show on the road this past week to add a touch of harness racing to a pair of Central Alberta Rodeo Association events.

The local standardbred racing community was represented at the Tees Rodeo in Tees, Alberta, located approximately 25 km east of Alberta Downs, for the second straight year and put on three exhibition races for the rodeo attendees last weekend.

"It was a great time, everyone put on a super show, and the fans and the Agricultural Society were very pleased and want us back," Colleen Haining told Trot Insider.

Yesterday, the standardbred horsemen and women also participated in the Bentley Rodeo Parade, winning second-place honours in the judging of the Horse Entry category. Bentley is located approximately 25 km west of Alberta Downs.

"Again, [we had] an amazing time and everyone performed incredibly," said Haining, also thanking those who attended and took part in showcasing the standardbred breed at the events.

Haining and her husband Harold organized the participation of the standardbred horsemen and women while the Alberta Standardbred Horse Association supplied treats that were distributed to the crowd.
