Plante Wins Seven At Flamboro

Driver J.R. Plante earned star of the card honours at Flamboro Downs on Friday night winning 70 per cent of the evening's races

Plante opened the 10-race card with a natural hat trick aboard All Risque ($15.60) for trainer Andy Avery, Ring It Up ($11.60) for Matthew Dupuis and Safety Zone ($18.20) for Bill Robinson. Plante also won with Whirlwind ($5.00) for Dr. John Hayes in the fifth race before finishing the card with another hat trick. His final wins came aboard the David King-trained Zorgwijk Fortunate ($5.10), who inherited the victory after Were Rolling committed a pylon violation, A Sudden Twist ($6.90) for Emma Frieze and Fun Factory ($4.90) for Jean Kovacs.

Plante also finished in the money in his other three starts.

The resident of Burlington, ON has earned over half of his 131 victories and $671,778 in earnings this year at Flamboro Downs putting him amongst the top 10 drivers at the track. Lifetime, he sports 1,121 victories on his record and close to $6.4 million in earnings.
