.

Leaving from the inside post position, Zip The Lip and driver Brian MacPhee zipped out in front and led the way past panels of :29.3, 1:00.3 and 1:31.2 before extending his lead to five lengths and hitting the wire in 2:00.3. Northern Zephyr (Jason Hughes) followed from the pocket for second and Meridian Trotting Series champion Warrawee Jade (Brian Andrew) finished third.

Zip The Lip, a son of Ken Warkentin-Wont She Tell, originally set the record on August 6, winning his qualifier by 23 lengths. Unraced as a two-year-old, the Donald Sweet trainee has now won half of his eight career starts for owner Melvin Willis of Cambridge, Ont., but this was his first on East Coast.

Norman MacPhail Memorial Pace winner Bet The House, under the command of Jason Hughes, made his move on route to the half and used a :28.1 final panel to win the $2,000 pacing feature by a length in 1:57.1. Ultimate Success (Leonard Myers) was second while Onehotvett (Mark Bradley) completed the triactor.

The five-year-old son of Bettors Delight-Tsunami Hanover recorded his fourth win of the season in 26 starts for trainer Blaine McKenna, who co-owns with Gary Arsenault of Miscouche, P.E.I.

Oakrock Almighty mapped out the fastest mile of the night stopping the timer in 1:55.1 for driver Ron Matheson, trainer Jackie Matheson and owners Jack Keenan of Stratford, P.E.I. and Joseph Dahl of Burlington, Ont. The five-year-old Rambaran-Best Undercover gelding held off late challenges from San Marco Hanover (Kenny Arsenault) and Life Savior (Brodie MacPhee) for his second win in a row.

The MacPhee family had a big night at the office as Brian had a driving triple while his son Brodie posted a driving double on the night.

Driver Walter Cheverie also had a driving double on the card.
