Tuesday Mohawk Qualifiers In The Books

Woodbine Mohawk Park was the scene of a 12-race qualifying session on Tuesday morning (August 25), as a cross section of Standardbreds took their turns putting in some miles over the Campbellville, Ont. course.

Mycrownmykingdom, the two-year-old Muscle Hill colt that sold for $450,000 at last fall's Lexington Selected Sale, was in action during the session, as he lined up in Post 5 for Race 8. The Luc Blais trainee was forwardly placed by pilot Bob McClure and kept close tabs on the leader through the first three quarters of the mile (:30.1, 1:01, 1:30.4). McClure tipped Mycrownmykingdom out at the head of the lane and went on to post a one-length victory in 2:00.1. The Determination stable of Montreal owns Mycrownmykingdom, who is out of Beehive, the dam of the great Bee A Magician.

Mycrownmykingdom's qualifier starts at the 1:43.40 mark.

Other notable miles from the session came from three-year-old Bettors Delight gelding Better Take It (1:54.1) and two-year-old Control The Moment colt Control Heaven (1:56.2), among others.
