If the undefeated See You At Peelers is to extend her career unbeaten streak to 23, she’ll have to do it from Post 9, the extreme outside at the Meadows
, on Monday, August 29 during the $193,150 Nadia Lobell for three-year-old pacing fillies.
Prior to the draw, trainer Jimmy Takter indicated that he didn’t think a bad post would hamper the chances of his phenomenal filly.
“The draw doesn’t matter all that much,” Takter said. “You don’t want Post 8 or 9, but she can cross the field from the nine hole.”
Although See You At Peelers has dominated her division and is the leading candidate for Horse of The Year in the United States, the race was 'oversubscribed.' Under the rules of the stakes event, the field is limited to the top-nine seasonal earners. Idyllic and Some Girls Do, the leading 2011 money-winners in the field behind See You At Peelers, drew Post 2 and 1, respectively.
The Meadow's Monday program holds a 12:55 p.m. first-race post time. The Nadia Lobell has been carded as Race 9 (3:25 p.m.), and will kick off a Pick 4 with a guaranteed $7,500 pool.
See You At Peelers has earned just under $1.48 million in her career for her owners, Christina Takter, John Fielding and Jim Fielding. According to United States Trotting Association records, her win streak is the fourth longest in U.S. harness racing over the last 20 years. History’s longest victory skein, 41, was reeled off by Carty Nagle in 1937-38.
Meadows-based trainer Ron Burke will be represented by three horses (Some Girls Do, Foxy Lady, Myluvmylife) in the Nadia Lobell, while trainer Casie Coleman will send out a pair (Idyllic, Pretty Katherine).
