According to a report, a Down Under owner has been handed an indefinite ban by Harness Racing New South Wales. Owner Mark Vallender, who has been described as a 'close associate' of the recently-resigned HRNSW steward Matthew Bentley, has refused to hand over telephone records which were requested by the governing organization.

An article by The Herald Sun explains that Vallender also owns at least one thoroughbred racehorse with Peter Michael Bentley, who is the father of Matthew Bentley.

The report explains that Vallender is one of many individuals in the Down Under harness racing industry that has been investigated in the ordeal which has also seen police in New South Wales look into claims that there had been leaked information as to what horse would and would not be tested for drugs before races.
