Richard Moreau put on a training clinic Monday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park thanks to a five-win performance on the 10-race card.

A multiple O’Brien Award-winning conditioner, Moreau kicked off the card taking a division of the Pop Up Series for female pacers with Maddigal.  Louis-Philippe Roy guided her to the 1:56.2 decision.

Moreau then teamed up with driver Jonathan Drury to take Race 4 with Mrmayor Hanover (1:55.2) and then Race 7 with Outkast Blue Chip (1:53).  Roy then guided the Moreau-trained Twin B Powerball (1:50.2) to an impressive score in Race 8.  He capped off his big night at the office winning the finale with Pirate Hanover (1:51.1) for teamster Doug McNair.

The native of Quebec leads all trainers at Mohawk Park in 2022 with 124 wins and purses in excess of $2.3 million.

In the Monday evening feature – the $45,500 Open Handicap Trot - driver James MacDonald helped Logan Park parlay a perfect, pocket trip into a career-best score in the evening’s main event.

Oney Hall powered to the lead from Post 5 and had Logan Park stalking him through solid fractions of :26.3, :55.4 and 1:24.1.  MacDonald angled his charge off the rail in the lane and together they used a :26.4 closing quarter to win by a half-length margin over heavily-favoured Forbidden Trade.  HP Mama B took home the show dough in the six-horse affair.

Sent off at odds of 6-1, the four-year-old son of Archangel-Rite Outa The Park improved his seasonal record to 3-1-0 from nine trips to the track for trainer Rob Fellows.  The 10-time winner is owned by Outofthepark Stable, Reg Higgs and Arpad Szabo.  The lion’s share of the purse bumped his career bankroll to $590,552.

Big Ace extended his winning streak to four-in-a-row thanks to his come-from-behind tally in the second leg of the Pop Up Series for male pacers.

Travis Cullen rallied the Jodie Cullen trainee to the 1:52 decision over Southwind Bronn and Yarm.

An all-female collection of sulky sitters clashed in Race 5, and when the dust settled it was Marie-Claude Auger who put the pedal to the metal en route to posting a sharp score with claiming pacer Dark Moves.

Leading through fractions of :26.4, :55.2 and 1:24.3, Dark Moves cruised home in :30 to win by six lengths over Mach Art In Motion.  Military Secret rounded out the Trifecta ticket.
