Marvin Katz, the co-breeder/owner of Hambletonian Oaks winner All The Time, has given an update on his star Muscle Hill filly that underwent emergency colic surgery on August 7.
Days after the surgery, which took place at the Mid-Atlantic Veterinary Hospital, All The Time’s trainer, Jimmy Takter, told Harness Racing Communications that the chances that the filly would race again were “50-50 at best.”
In his update on the situation, Katz, who co-owns the filly with his partner and co-breeder, Al Libfeld, stated, “All The Time remains at the clinic. She will stay until we are certain she is fully able to eat and process all foods and her digestive system is working without discomfort. All seems to be going very well.”
The 2015 Breeders Crown winner assembled a 7-2-0 record from 12 starts last season as a rookie. All The Time hasn't finished worse than second this season as a three-year-old, with four wins and three seconds from seven sophomore appearances. Her win in the $500,000 Hambletonian Oaks lifted her lifetime bankroll north of $920,000 and gave trainer Takter and driver Yannick Gingras their third straight win in that race.
After the surgery, Takter was quoted as saying, “Maybe I can have her ready for the Breeders Crown (in late October), but she will let me know. I’m not going to do anything to jeopardize her health. She is such a unique horse and her family is great. We are grateful for what she has done."
