Future Spin Shocks In Meadows Feature

Shuffled to seventh at the half, Future Spin threaded her way through horses in the lane to pull off a 25-1 shocker in Wednesday’s (Aug. 14) feature at The Meadows, an $11,800 conditioned pace for fillies and mares.

Future Spin had plenty of late pace, but Jason Merriman had to find a seam for the four-year-old daughter of Artiscape and Buy In Hanover. When he did, Future Spin burst through to score in 1:55, a head better than Sewonandsewforth, who was parked the mile. An Original Dragon finished third.

Future Spin split foes to get her red blinkers in front at the line in Wednesday's featured distaff pace at The Meadows.

Dan Walski trains Future Spin, who won for the first time in 15 starts this year, for Walski Stables LLC.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Saturday (Aug. 17) when the card features a pair of events for freshman trotting colts and geldings: a $186,016 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes and an $80,000 Pennsylvania Stallion Series event. On the wagering front, the program will offer a $1,319.68 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 1:05 p.m.
