Driver Randy Waples has celebrated many highlights over the course of his career near his hometown

of Fergus. On Wednesday night a win aboard The Big Macher at Grand River not only sent trainer Bob McIntosh over an earnings plateau, it boosted Waples over one as well.

Waples, the top driver on the WEG circuit this year for both wins (193) and earnings ($4.1 million), surpassed $90 million in lifetime earnings with the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots win at Grand River.

The blue and gold-clad reinsman is in the midst of his 14th straight season with more than $2.5 million earned and over 100 victories, and he'll look to add to those totals with some lucrative drives during Sunday's Confederation Cup day program of harness racing at Flamboro Downs. Waples will guide Text Me (Race 3, PP7) and Cam B Zipper (Race 6, PP3) in a pair of OSS Gold Finals as well as Confederation Cup hopefuls Outrageous Art (Race 8, PP9) and Wellthereyougo (Race 9, PP1).
