.

The report states that Cummings suffered injuries to his hip and elbow.

The accident occurred during Race 9 as the field was going into the first turn. Cummings, 38, was aboard Devilinhiseyes.

"I’m really not sure what happened,” Cummings said. “Things got tight and the race bike got jerked from underneath me. When the left wheel tipped sideways I knew I was in trouble. I just let go of the lines and landed on the ground.

“My hip is really bruised, that’s where I hit the ground and my elbow has a hole in it. I lost a chunk of skin. It's really sore today.”

Having booked off his scheduled drives for today, Cummings plans to be back in the sulky at Batavia on Wednesday, August 12.

“As of now I plan on racing Wednesday night,” the father of four was quoted as saying.

Devilinhiseyes was apprehended after the race and was fine. No other horses or drivers were injured.
