The I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club’s Heart of Harness Racing Calendar Photographer for August is Sylvain Gagnon of Brossard, Quebec.
Sylvain captured this unique photo from the infield of Dany Mainguy driving JDS Caleb Man at the Brome Fair in Brome, QC., last year over the Labour Day long weekend.
Last summer the 12-year-old gelding raced across Quebec, making stops at Rideau Carleton Raceway, Saint Esprit Fair Day, Saint Hughes Regional Fair, Brome Fair, and of course at Hippodrome 3R in Trois Rivieres, QC, where he competed in the fourth leg of the World Driving Championship, with Shane Graham of Australia driving.
From April to October Gagnon is the photographer at the aforementioned fair tracks and at Hippodrome 3R throughout their season. When he isn’t at the track photographing the races, he likes to spend time with his family.
“In the summer I work a lot, it’s important for me to spend time with the family,” he explained. “I really enjoy shooting odd stuff like family moments, portraits, bugs, meals and panoramas with my cell phone.”
This isn’t the first time that Gagnon’s work has been featured in the Heart of Harness Racing Calendar, one of his shots was featured for the month of July in the 2017 Heart of Harness Racing Calendar.
