Stonebridge To Sell Exclusively In Canada

Angie Stiller of Stonebridge Farms made a somewhat surprising announcement today - Stonebridge will sell their total consignment of their 2009 yearlings in Canada

at the Forest City Sale in London – including her American-sired yearlings.

"It has been conventional to sell American-bred in the U.S.," said Stiller, "but I believe that the consignment and catalogue are strong enough that the big owners, trainers and agents will be at the sale."

Stiller reports that the consignment includes a spectacular Andover Hall brother to Peaceful Way, 2, 1:56.2s, 3, 1:52.3, 4, 1:51.4 -'05 ($3,245,055), an amazing Rocknroll Hanover brother to Art Colony, p, 2, 1:51s -'08 ($851,250) runner-up in the North America Cup final, and a racy-looking Andover Hall colt whose dam is out of a three-quarter sister to Passionate Glide, 2, 1:55.4, 3, 1:52.2 -'06 ($2,131,377), among others.

"Some will see this as a risky move," continued Stiller, "but I believe that the proximity of the sale to the Breeders Crown at Mohawk and the quality of the offerings of the sale will provide a good audience from both North America and Europe.

“I think that when people see these animals themselves, they’ll want to be where they’re going to be sold – at least I hope so!"
