A group against the expansion of gaming in the state of New Hampshire is up in arms after it has taken Governor John Lynch discussing the possibility of casino as a flip-flop on his stance of being against more gaming in the state

.

According to an article by unionleader.com, Gov. Lynch met with members of the Gaming Study Commission at an informal reception which was celebrating an end to its nine months of work.

During an informal discussion at the gathering, a conversation which Gov. Lynch engaged included the finding that the most lucrative spot for a New Hampshire casino would be in southern part of the state, where Rockingham Park and two other proposed casino locations are.

"This move sharply contrasts with the governor's previously expressed reservations about gambling proliferation and damage to quality of life," Granite State Coalition Against Expanded Gambling Chairman Jim Rubens was quoted as saying.

The article quoted Lynch's press secretary, Colin Manning, as saying that the Governor took part in "a broad ranging discussion about the report, including their assessment of its discussions around regulatory structure proliferation, social costs and their analysis of different gaming models, including their analysis of a single facility in the southern tier." Manning also was quoted as saying, "there is no news here."
