The eight-year-old Cambest mare who won a winners over pace on June 21 and the first leg of the Erwin Andrew series on June 28 - both at Inverness Raceway - returned to the winner’s circle today, this time at the North Sydney half-miler. Abby Best carved out panels of :30, 1:01.1 and 1:31.2 en route to a three and a half-length victory in 2:00 flat over Milliondollarjen (Mary Clare MacDonald). For The Luv Abunny (Alex MacQuarrie) finished third off a pocket-trip.
Owned by Travis MacLean of Chelmsford, Ont., Abby Best in now five-for-six in her 2009 campaign with $5,500 earned. The career winner of 30 races has banked $48,086 to date.
