Meadowlands Qualifiers Full To The Brim

More than half of this morning's qualifying races at the Meadowlands were devoted to two-year-olds

. After the youngsters made their way off the track, some big names then took their turns on the one-mile oval.

The Kevin Lare-trained and Andy Miller-driven Striking Sahbra filly U Too recorded a wire-to-wire win in Race 1 and posted a nine and three-quarter-length margin of victory in 2:00.4.

With trainer Ray Schnittker in the bike, Andover Hall filly Spectacular Bay reigned supreme in Race 2, coming from off the tempo to record a four-length win in 1:58.

The Bjorn Noren-trained and Michel Lachance-driven Credit Winner colt Pole Position proved the best in Race 3, as the freshman trotted a 2:04.1 mile and won by three-quarters of one length.

The duo of driver George Brennan and conditioner Bruce Saunders clicked in Race 4 with Classic Photo colt Classic Viking. The bay drew off on his competition late and posted a two and a half-length victory in 2:00.3.

No Pan Intended colt Europan Union hit the wire in 1:56.1 and was three-quarters of a length the best in Race 5. Tim Tetrick was at the helm for trainer Erv Miller.

The same trainer-driver duo hooked up in Race 6 and got the job done once again, as Pike Hanover, a Western Ideal colt, tossed up a one and three-quarter-length margin of victory in 1:56.2.

Preppy Party Girl had her dancing shoes on in Race 7, as the juvenile daughter of Western Terror made the combo of Andy Miller and Erv Miller victorious once again. The margin of victory was four and a half lengths and the clock was stopped in 1:57.

The last two-year-old dash of the morning went to Oh Pretty Leigh. The daughter of Western Ideal won by three lengths for driver Andy Miller and trainer John Butenschoen. The win time was 1:57.3.

Three-year-old Cantab Hall colt Cruisealong was a winner for driver Michel Lachance and trainer Ron Gurfein in Race 9. The win time was 1:55.1 with the margin of victory four and a half lengths.

Another Cantab Hall three-year-old -- this time a filly -- made the Lachance-Gurfein combo a winner once again, as Musical Mystery won by five lengths in Race 10. The filly stopped the clock in 1:55.2.

Artiscape mare Jersey Dream hit the wire first in Race 11. George Brennan drove the filly to victory for trainer Bruce Saunders. The winning margin was two and a half lengths in the 1:54 mile.

Three-year-old Western Ideal filly Twist N Clout hit the wire first in Race 12, as George Brennan steered the Joe Holloway pupil to a five and three-quarter-length victory in 1:55.4.

The Blair Burgess-trained Cams Card Shark colt Passmaster Hanover resurfaced in Race 13. With Tim Tetrick calling the shots, the New Jersey Classic winner paced in a sharp 1:51.3 and won by over six lengths.

The combo of trainer Erv Miller and driver Andy Miller clicked in Race 14 with Martha Maxine, which won by 10 lengths in a very solid 1:51.1.

The final qualifying event of the morning went to six-year-old Camluck gelding Armbro Dane. With Michel Lachance calling the shots for trainer Jean Drolet, Armbro Dane won by five lengths and stopped the clock in 1:53.3.
