The Baby To Boomer Series continued with three $6,500 second leg divisions on Saturday night at Sudbury Downs
. The series is for five-year-olds and younger that are non-winners of one race or $7,500 (fillies and mares $10,000) lifetime as of May 28.
First leg winner O Ts Attack ($3.70), a five-year-old son of On The Attack-True Stunner, romped to a 16 and half length victory in the first event of the night, stopping the clock in 1:57.2. Paul MacLean was in the bike for trainer France MacLean and owner Gerry Gauthier of Azilda, Ont. The win was his fourth in 10 seasonal starts.
Erwins Xample ($11.70) and trainer-driver Mike MacNeill went wire-to-wire to win the next split in 1:57.3 by three lengths. The four-year-old son of N Xample-Tesa Tuck, a winner of two races in nine starts this year, is owned by Ann MacNeill of Charlottetown, P.E.I. He finished fourth in his opening round division.
With Justin Turcotte in the bike, Summer Holiday ($13.50) front-stepped her way to a 1:58.4 victory in the final division, turning back a challenge from eventual third place finisher Rockadile Man along the way. The three-year-old daughter of Camluck-Holiday Hustler, who was fifth in the first division, won by nearly four lengths for owners Roger Brown of Lively and Donald Price of Powassan, Ont. Unraced at two, Summer Holiday has won two of 17 starts this year.
