Dresden Agricultural Society President Lucille Laprise has offered comments regarding the 2014 meet at Dresden Raceway, stating that there is a want and need for racing at the track and that the agricultural society is there to support it.
“There is a want and a need out there, so we need to support that,” Laprise was quoted as saying in an article by Blackburn News.
“There are great horsemen out there, there’s some wonderful horses that are just waiting to run and they need a place to do that,” she added.
Laprise said that the agricultural society has been busy sprucing things up. “We’re doing some painting here, fixing up there and doing all kinds of great things to bring the place back up to where it used to be.”
She said that fan support has been strong and that she is hoping Dresden can land more race dates in 2015.
“Hopefully we’ll do a really good job and have great support and get maybe a few more races next year. I think everyone has been pleased with the turnout we’re having.”

The Dresden Agricultural
The Dresden Agricultural Society has been working very hard to make racing at Dresden a positive experience for the fans. From the paintwork to the increased number of mutual clerks, from the sponsorships and the between-race giveaways to the condition of the racetrack itself, improvement is everywhere. Both attendance and the handle are up. Perhaps some different distance racing and maybe an OSS race or two in the future would add to the overall experience even more. Well done Dresden!
