Four-year-old pacing mare New Album topped the 2012 Tattersalls Mixed Sale at The Meadowlands on Sunday afternoon selling for $97,000.
Selling at Hip 142, the Western Terror-Always Remember mare, who has compiled a career record reading 14-6-10 in 47 starts while banking $458,587, was purchased by agent Preferred Equine Inc. of Briarcliff Manor, New York. New Album earned multiple New York Sire Stakes victories and won her Valley Forge Consolation in a career-best 1:51.2 at Harrah's Philadelphia. She also earned top three finishes in the Matron Stakes, Empire Breeders Classic, Historic Stakes, Shady Daisy, and Lady Maud.
Brave Alex Semalu, Hip 152, garnered the second highest bid of the day at $75,000. The five-year-old Yankee Cam-Signature Semalu gelding was purchased by Dylan Davis of Viola, Delaware from the Northwood Bloodstock Agency consignment. He has compiled a career record reading 18-11-7 in 62 outings while banking $344,528 in purses and took his mark of 1:49.4 in an Open Pace at Woodbine Racetrack earlier this year in March.
Europan Union rounded out the top three highest priced horses selling as Hip 195 for $70,000. The five-year-old gelding sired by No Pan Intended out of Pansatlantic was purchased by Edwin Gannon Jr. of Dover, Delaware from the Preferred Equine Inc. consignment. He has a lifetime record reading 14-14-8 in 65 starts with $427,435 earned in purses. Europan Union took a mark of 1:50 at Pocono Downs in June this year.
