Freshman trotters headlined the Georgian Downs card on Tuesday (July 25) as they competed in the Prospect Series.
Eiffel Power and Samuel Fillion won the $8,700 division for two-year-old colts.
Eiffel Power took the early lead to the quarter in :30.4 before favoured Expidition Pass (Reginald Gassien) became the pacesetter for the remainder of the mile. Eiffel Power followed the leader through panels in 1:02 and 1:33. Down the stretch, there were three across the track as Eiffel Power, Boyden (Paul Walker) and Expidition Pass sought the victory. Eiffel Power prevailed by a nose over Boyden, who beat Expidition Pass in third by a neck. The final time of the mile was clocked in 2:03.2.
Blake MacIntosh trains Eiffel Power for Glenn Dyke as the My MVP-French Doll colt won his first race in three career attempts. He paid $12.30 to win.
Chaud Holliday won the $8,600 split for freshman fillies with Ryan Holliday in the bike for David Holliday.
Chaud Holliday rode the pocket trip behind pacesetter Graceful China (Jason Ryan) through panels in :31.1, 1:03.3 and 1:34.3 before pulling away in the stretch to win by 2-3/4 lengths in 2:04.1. The Blondy (Colin Kelly) took second and Graceful China finished third.
Caroline Holliday and Paul Rutherford co-own Chaud Holliday, who earned her first win in two starts. The daughter of Lookslikeachpndale-Chaleur Hanover paid $4.30 to win.
