In four starts this year, three-year-old pacer Sixdaysontheroad remains undefeated at Grande Prairie, but owner Walter Moroz has a more sentimental reason to hold on to his Allamerican Native – Resume Speed colt
.
“There’s a good chance I’ll make it up to Grande Prairie for the Adios Pick Final in August,” says Moroz, who lost his wife of 40 years, Natalie Daviduk to cancer less than two weeks ago. “Sixdaysontheroad looks to be a top contender in there and that’s the one horse Natalie told me never to sell.”
Sixdaysontheroad’s latest 1:56 wire-to-wire score on Saturday, July 18 was his most impressive to date. Trained and driven by Ron Graham, the bay cruised home in :27 seconds for the easy six and three-quarter length victory.
“I seen Keith [Clark] coming so I pressed my whip on the horse’s tail, chirped at him a little and he took off,” Graham told the Daily Herald Tribune. “Racing is like boxing to me though. You can win 10 in a row and then meet up with a guy that wants to hit back. This is a nice horse, but he’s going to meet up against some good ones in the weeks to come.”
