It has been reported that a settlement is in the works in regard to the situation where Running Aces Harness Park in Minnesota allegedly shorted horsepeople and owners a total of $437,000 in purses over a five-year period.
An article by the Pioneer Press states that Running Aces Harness Park General Manager Robert Farinella said on Tuesday, July 22 that the track intends to pay back the full amount that horsepeople and horse owners were shorted during the period.
The report states that Farinella’s comments came during a legislative hearing and that a settlement has been reached, but the agreement still has to be finalized.
The article has cited Farinella as saying that the situation occurred due to a misunderstanding of the state law surrounding purse contributions.
