Clinton Raceway reported on Wednesday, July 22 that there will be a driver change for this Sunday's Legends Trot as part of Legends Day.
Following an injury sustained last weekend at Saratoga Raceway that resulted in broken ribs, Wally Hennessey will unfortunately be unable to compete in the Legends Trot. While he is hopeful to still attend Sunday's festivities and visit with fans, he will not be an on-track participant.
Hennessey was scheduled to drive Supersonic Hanover. Taking over the lines will be the horse's trainer, double Hall of Famer Blair Burgess, adding another legendary name to an already star-studded field including Doug Brown, Chris Christoforou, Steve Condren, Carl Jamieson, Paul MacDonell and Mike Saftic.
Clinton Raceway wishes Hennessey a speedy recovery and looks forward to welcoming him to the track, health permitting, for the 25th Anniversary of Legends Day this Sunday as part of an eventful race day that features the 2026 National Driving Championship presented by Standardbred Canada.
