The curtain closed on the first leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series for two-year-olds last night at Eldorado Scioto Downs as three daughters of Long Tom and Docs Boo Boo, the first trotter by pacing super sire Downbytheseaside to find the winner’s circle, were victorious.
In the first of four $17,500 divisions, Jeff Nisonger raced Docs Boo Boo off the gate from the eighth post position to grab the lead at the first quarter and went gate-to-wire to win in 2:00. Docs Boo Boo cut fractions of 29.1, 59.3, and 1:30.2 on the way to the win. Lose My Mind AS was second with Crystas Legacy finishing third.
Mark Winter trains Docs Boo Boo, who has hit the board in all four starts with two wins and two thirds, for JR Stable LLP.
In the second division, A Long Dream and Chris Page made it look easy, cruising to an 11-length victory in 1:59.2. The daughter of Long Tom exploded down the back stretch to grab the lead, never looking back to win her second in a row. Toms Royalty was second with Full Heart third.

Go Long Katie and Tyler Smith sat in the pocket until the final turn, swinging wide to grab the lead and charging down the stretch to win by a length in 1:58.3 in the third division. Kiss My Brass finished second with Pring Gal third.
The win was the first of the year for the Jimmy Lupton trainee who is owned by Bartley Traditions Racing.
In the final division, Twish with Chris Page in the bike grabbed the lead heading to the half-mile and held the lead the rest of the way to win in by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:59.4 over Hailstorm Maker with Mia Hill third. It was Twish’s second win in three starts.
Dan Reynolds trains and co-owns the daughter of Long Tom with Gary Reynolds.
Freshman filly pacers will begin the second leg of Buckeye Stallion Series Tuesday, July 26 at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
