Undefeated this season, Therealprincess racked up her sixth straight stakes victory for trainer/co-owner Eddy Doucette as she took the final $20,000 division of the Frank & Beth Stanfield Memorial for three-year-old pacing fillies during Friday's (July 22) stakes action at Truro Raceway.

Returning to the Truro, N.S. oval where she equalled the 1:54.3 divisional track record on June 10 (pictured above) and won an Atlantic Sires Stakes the following week, Therealprincess added a Stanfield win there to her resume. Corey MacPherson took an early tuck into the pocket spot with the 2-5 favourite as JJ Scarlett (Don Gillis) forged to the front and set fractions of :28.1, :58.1 and 1:28.2 while rebuffing a spirited challenge from Orrsterror (Gilles Barrieau). Therealprincess found room coming off the final turn to launch her attack and easily downed the pacesetter to score by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:56.1. Ultimate Long Shot (David Dowling) finished third over Orrsterror after those two bumped wheels past the half.

Doucette shares ownership of Therealprincess with longtime Kensington, P.E.I. partners Gordon MacLeod, Grant Mann and breeder Blaine Thibeau. The Source Of Pride-Deviliciously Good filly has earned $47,018 of her $82,766 bankroll during her perfect sophomore season.

Peter Holmes' homebred filly Outrageous Style was the first and fastest Stanfield division winner of the night with a 1:55.4 career-best effort in her initial stakes outing of the season.

Trained by Ron Matheson and driven by Gilles Barrieau, the favoured Hes Watching-Outrageous Storm filly found her stride after gaping in fourth early on, going first-up and using a :28.4 final frame to defeat Cantstopthelovin (Dowling), who led through panels of :27.4, :57.4 and 1:26.2. Tobins Diva (Campbell) rallied off cover to finish second in a dead-heat with the pacesetter.

After going three-for-three as a rookie, Outrageous Style has recorded four wins to go along with three seconds from seven starts this year, lifting her bankroll to nearly $30,000.

The other Stanfield division was won by KCs Starlite, who won an early speed duel with favourite Cougar On A Terr (Redmond Doucet) for the top spot and paced away to a 3-1/2-length victory in a career-best 1:56.2 clocking with Todd Trites rocking in the sulky. Malice Intent (Campbell) and Little Miss Miley (Myles Heffernan) finished second and third.

Trainer Charles Miles co-owns the Source Of Pride-Allamerican Shaina filly, who picked up her third stakes win of the season, with fellow Frederiction, N.B. residents Donald Bishop and Bruce MacDonald.

Tobins Profit and Malignity were repeat winners in the Atlantic Sires Stakes as Truro also hosted a pair of $9,600 second leg divisions for two-year-old pacing colts and gelding during the Atlantic Grand Circuit week program.

The undefeated Danny Romo trainee Tobins Profit and Barrieau led all the way to win in a new mark of 1:57 flat over the pocket-popping Howmac Charmer (Doucet), with Saltwater Johnny (Adam Merner) back in third. The Stonebridge Terror-Southern Blue gelding, who was a $25,000 Atlantic Classic Sale yearling purchase, is now three-for-three to start his career for owners Kevin Dorey of Middle Sackville, N.S., Frank Brundle of East Garafraxa, Ont., and Robert Sumarah of Halifax, N.S.

Malignity trailed by more than nine length early on but made up all that ground as he swept to command in front of the grandstand the first time around and went on to score an 8-1/2-length blowout victory in 1:56.1 for trainer/driver Paul Langille.  Bacononabiscuit (Campbell) and Meraki (Barrieau) were the best of the rest. Owned by Debbie Francis of Sweets Corner, N.S., and Rosanne Langille of Lower Onslow, N.S., the Malicious-Lady Kelleigh Anne gelding is now two-for-three with Friday's victory his fastest yet.

The freshman colts will meet up at Inverness Raceway for their next Sires Stakes event on August 10.
