Creatine made it to the winner's circle on Sunday (July 19) in Europe. The son of Andover Hall, who was driven by Johnny Takter, won the St Michels Race at the Mikkeli track in Finland in 1:53.1f and picked up $75,000 in purse money.

Creatine got a tough trip, as Takter tried to get him to the front. The first fraction was :26.1 with Swedish trotter Quick Fix, driven by Jorma Kontio, defending the lead. At the half-mile, Takter tried for the front again and succeeded. Creatine stayed on to win by two lengths followed by the French trotter Solea Rivelliere.

The victory was Creatine’s first European win in his sixth overseas start.

Creatine will race again in the Aabergs Memorial at Jagersro, Sweden, on Tuesday (July 28).

Stablemate Maven will be in that race, too, and Yannick Gingras will fly over to drive her. Gingras will even go to Solvalla to drive the next evening.

Some Summit, driven by Veijo Heiskanen, won the biggest race in Sweden for four-year-old mares, Stochampionatet. The purse for the winner was $115,000. Some Summit, who was the 6-10 favorite, won the one and a half-mile event very easily in 1:58.4f.

Some Summit, who is sired by Dream Vacation, came to the stable of Veijo Heiskanen in February. At that time she had not won a race. Since then, Heiskanen has raced her four times, winning each race.
