The recent fate of the horsepeople and equine performers which called Hippodrome de Montreal home has been a well-documented affair. But what hasn't been told is the story of the felines that lived at the storied
Quebec racing facility -- that is, until now.
In a Montreal Gazette article, Paul Delean tells the story of handfuls of barn-area cats which have been blessed to cross paths with veteran horsewoman Francine Boudrias at one point or another.
Over the course of her years at the track, the 60-year-old Montreal resident spent money out of her own pocket to have some of the cats spayed and neutered. She even opened the door of her home for a handful.
"It's funny, but until I came to the racetrack, I'd never even had a cat of my own," Boudrias said.

Too bad the security guards just don't get it. Leave her alone to care for these animals, that were abandoned. She's not asking them for any money to pay for the cats, she's doing it out of her love for animals.
